Back on the sick

My back went again. OH NO!!!! I here you say. Yep, this time I woke up in pain with it. Didn't actually have to do anything this time. It's been a couple of weeks so far, and I'm already up to 50mcg of Fentanyl every 3 days.
Today I went for my third lot of MRI scans since all these problems arose. Those machines are so noisy, even with foam earplugs in your ears. I was told by the lady there that since my last scans were done technology has improved greatly. Where I used to get a huge envelope containing your scans, now you get them on a DVD disk. Can't wait to get them.
My car goes in for it long awaited service tomorrow. I'm dreading it. It's my own stupid fault but my car hasn't had a service since I got it nearly 3 years ago. I'm dreading the bill. On a brighter note, once I've got this done, I can arrange for the car to go back to the lease company and collect my new car, which is sitting waiting for me. Now that, I can't wait for.
A few days ago, we had a phone call from the hospital where my brother is a patient. They told me that he had been rushed to intensive care as he couldn't breath. They said it was best if we went in as he was really poorly.
When we went in he was rigged up to a non invasive ventilator. Obviously he was also rigged up to the normal heart monitors etc. He could badly speak, and what he could say was differcult to understand because of the ventilator mask he was wearing. The nurse advised us that his kidneys were failing and his lungs were collapsing due to too much acid is his blood, so his lungs had been trying to compensate for this but had decided to give up, hence the need for the machine.
The next day when we went in, he was like a different person. During the night, he had been given dialysis and put on a proper ventilator. This had worked wonders and his blood was sorted and lungs working again. This time he was able to speak better.
He has been improving each day. Hopefully this will continue.
It's been a stressful week which I'm glad is nearly over.
I have decided to set up a channel on YouTube to do vlogs on. I only have a couple of experimental ones on there at present. I have been trying to research how people do there vlogs and make it look natural and interesting. I'm gonna have to get my finger out and try it properly. My channel is coffeeandasliceolife go check it out, subscribe and sent me a message of encouragement to spur me on. Thank you.

Overdue post

Hope everyone is ok today.
All my jobs done, bills paid etc. Thankfully. Thought it would be a bit tighter for money than it is this month after Crimbo.
Life at the moment is going ahead normally. Had  a drama this week when we bought a new bed for our daughter only to find we could not get it round the bannister post on the stairs. She was soo looking forward to sleeping in it. After a lot of attempts trying to force it round the bend on the stairs, we eventually got it up there. Or should I say D, and our neighbours did while I was at work. G's bedroom looks lovely now. More like a young girls room rather than a kids room. D did a great job sorting stuff out and tidying up etc. She's worked hard bless her. Was all worth it in the end. We now have a happy daughter.
Work is manic at present. It seems like everyone wants to ring up and complain. You would think we were under staffed the amopunt of calls we have coming through. Got my appraisal this week. Not sure if I'm looking forward to it though. Time will tell.
Our neighbours, who we all get along very well with have all but eventually sold their house. They are very excited about moving to their new home. I cant blame them. For a young couple, they have done very well for themselves and deserve it. They will be missed a lot.
On a final note. My thoughts go out to those people in Australia where there are major floods. I do hope my friends on Twitter are not caught up in any of it and that their families are safe.

Ho Ho Ho lots of snow

Hi. I hope you are all gearing yourself up for the Christmas festivities. I am off work for about a week and really enjoying chilling instead of the stress of work. The snow is causing chaos in my area. Plenty of tailback and delays. At the moment its only a thin covering but with -6 temperatures. Even though the heating is on full, I can hardly feel it.
This week myself, D and G were at a friends 40th birthday party. We haven't seen Jennifer for years. It was good to see her after so long. It was a very good night. Plenty of my favorite Guinness was consumed that night. The drive home in the near blizzard conditions was a bit scary. This is a video I took out of the back window of the car.

Well, this afternoon I'm visiting work for our Christmas buffet and secret santa. Wonder what I will get.

My recieved gift

Last night, I spoke to my Uncle Tappy on the phone after receiving a Facebook message to ring him. He explained that he had just got a phone call to return back to the USA to do a book signing. He told me that he had a book for me and wondered how he could get it to me as he was leaving at 04.30 the next morning. Even though it was 21.30 at night I agreed to pop down to his flat which is a good 10 mile away. It was a nice relaxed drive down with hardly anyone on the roads. I got his and was given a signed book which he had wrote in partnership with another man. The bit I have read so far is enthralling. I couldn't put it down. The only reason I did stop reading it was that it was 02.00 in the morning. I would really recommend reading this.

The Wildcats

Friday night saw me and D go to Cullercoats Crescent Club to see The Wildcats play. The Wildcats are basically a band that started in Cullercoats / Whitley Bay in the late 50s early 60s. The are partly responsible for The Animals coming to fame. The Wildcats guitarist, Hilton Valentine left and joined The Animals and my Uncle, Tappy, left and became their Road Manager.
It was a brilliant night. Fantastic music that brought a smile to everyone's faces. It was great to see so many people that I had not seen in years. I also got to spend a couple of nice hours with my dad.
D was expecting it to be a bit boring with lots of old people but was pleasantly surprised to find the night really enjoyable.
Apparently they may do another gig next year. I cant wait.

Spooky

I thought I would let you know about what happened in our house last night. Simple enough, I was going up stairs to start my bath running. As I go to the top of the stair and stepped onto the landing and glanced left as normal towards our daughters bedroom. The door was open, but what I saw, very briefly was the outline of the top half of a person. No features, just the outline. It then just disapearred.
Every so often something happens in this house. It started after our daughter was born. Just when she was able to speak, her mother was lying on our bed with her getting her settled for bedtime when she pointed to the corner of the bedroom and said 'Mammy, who's that man?' D could not see a thing but G, our daughter, kept staring into the corner. Another time, a similar thing happened. Again, when lying on the bed getting G settled. G started laughing and said ' Who's that funny man dancing?' and pointed to the same corner where she did on the previous time. Another time, a few years later, I was going through some old family photos when G picked one up and said 'I've seen him before, and pointed to a photo of my Grandad. I asked her where she had seen him, but she couldnt remember. My Grandad died when I was very young. It is well said that young children are more open to things with them being so innocent and not corrupted by the normal run of the mill things that we are.
Another thing that happened was when D was in the shower and I was at work. I got a phone call from a rather freaked out D, who said she was in the shower and someone blew on her. It was like a cold blast. It shook her up a bit.
And the other thing thing that happened was one evening when I was talking to my friend on the phone. I had the phone to my right ear, and to my left was a wall. Me and my friend laughed about something and straight away at the same time, There was a clear, audible laugh in my left ear. Not a metalic sound like through a phone but a clear sound as if someone was right next to me. Remeber there is a wall there. I know some may say it could be your neighbours but we never hear them plus this was in close proximity, right next to me, not through a wall.
Due to other things that I have experienced over the years. I am a firm believer of spirits. I know a lot of people are not but everyone is entitled to thier own beliefs.
One day I might blog about things I have seen and experienced. One day.
Go to IntenseDebate

I have decided to try out IntenseDebate on my blog. Hopefully it will give better control of comments. Beforehand I didnt get notification that a reply had been posted.

Tired and peeved

I am so tired this week. I have moved from one department to my old department that I worked on about 7 yrs ago. Even though I know most of the systems, apart from a couple of new ones, I feel mentally drained going through retraining plus going on line and trying to hit targets for call durations. Fair enough they don't expect us to hit them yet but I've still been trying to hit them and not getting anywhere near due to long calls trying to sort peoples problems out.
I come home and all I want to do is lie down and go to sleep. Last night, even though I was shattered, I still couldn't sleep. It took me hours to drift off properly so today has been a bit of a struggle. Fingers crossed.

Before I go I must tell you about something D has just told me.
She has just pulled up in her car after taking our daughter to dance class and saw a young boy ( I'll not call him what I want to but it rhymes with ship ) from along the street with his dog on a lead, letting it pee on our front garden. He's just had a gobfull off D and a visit to his mother may be on the cards to kick off. His mother is known to be a bit of a nutter when she kicks off.
I know a pee may not be a major thing to some people but what if it is the other the next time. It just show disrespect for other peoples property. Hopefully next time we will catch it happening and get a photo then we can report them. That's a nice 1000 pound fine. I'm getting annoyed just thinking about it.

Bye bye desktop

Well, this week, my poor desktop pc finally gave up the ghost and decided to pass away. No warning, just didnt switch on one day. There was power to it. Fans are going etc, just hard drive not working so may be mother board or hard drive, I dont know. So because of that, my photography has taken a hit. I do have a laptop but editing photos isnt the same on a laptop as it is on a desktop. The screen isnt sharp enough. I could, i suppose link my laptop to the main screen but I havent tried that yet.
Its nearly the weekend, and thank f**k I say. I am shattered. For some reason, this week I have been worn out all day every day. I'm looking forward to the rest. I've nothing special planned for the weekend apart from chilling and unwinding. Bring it on.
Tomorrow is my birthday. I'm a whole 42 years old. Still feel like an 18 year old, but damned if i can find one. ( The old ones are the best ). Frightening thing is, I can remember when my Dad was this age. That makes me feel old thinking of that.
I'll keep you all updated as of what happens over the weekend.

Knackered

What a week its been so far at work. Yes, I know its only Wednesday but I'm absolutly shattered. Even slept in this morning. I made the dredded mistake of keep snoozing the alarm on my iphone. I dont know how many of you have an iPhone but its so easy to switch the alarm of instead of snoozing. This is what I did. I had 15 minutes to get my butt out of bed and into the shower, have a cuppa then go to work. I managed it but no time to relax, which I hate. Theres nothing worse than sleeping in and rushing for work. You end up stressed before even starting work. Not good.
Had to laugh after speaking to a customer today. I answered the call as if the account holder was ringing, which we have to. It turned out to be a third party user of the account. She said ' why does everyone say Mr. *****' when I ring. I explained about answering as if its the account holder. 'But I am the acount holder' she said. No, you're the third party, I explained to which she replied 'Oh, if I'm the third party, whos the second party then?' I had to really bite my lip on that one. Makes you wonder about some people lol.

Weehee Weekend

Well that's it. Another week finished at work. Bring on the weekend. I am so looking forward to it. No having to get up for work at 6am.
I am planning on going to the local shopping centre to take my daughter to Starbucks while her mother is at work and no doubt go round hundreds of shops. I enjoy going out, doing things with her. Just Daddy, Daughter time. We normally have a good laugh.
Sunday, weather permitting we should hopefully be going to the Newcastle quayside market. We all enjoy wandering around there. Its very relaxing. Then go for a coffee. Hopefully it will stop raining before then. Its done nothing but rain today.
One of my blogger friends (Livi - http://princessl.co.uk/ ) did a vlog for the very first time yesterday. She did very well. I have to admit that I have considered it but am too shy and would just forget what to say. Maybes one day I will.
Well anyway, that's me for the moment. I hope everyone has a lovely weekend.

Followers.

I knew when I started blogging that it was gonna be a long tough slog to get followers but I didnt think it would be so bad. I have been commenting on other peoples blogs andfollowing them but has any of them, apart from my online friends Livi and Monika ( both followed me from the start ) followed back back. NO!!!!  I know you cant force people to follow but still would be nice if they did, even for a short time to see what I have to say. If after that they dont like it then leave. At least I would know that people are actually taking some sort of notice.
Maybes one day they will follow. Its just frustrating thats all. At the moment it feels like I'm only putting messages up for those 2 followers I have.
If anyone has any suggestions about how to make this blog more successful, how to get followers, or how to advertise my blog, let me know please.

A nice, welcome change

Well, today was my first day of training for my new job withing the company. Myself and another guy who has moved from the same department as myself both agree, its like a big weight has been lifted off our shoulders. A weight I have been trying to shift for over 4 years now. A lot of what we covered, actually the majority of what we covered I already knew seeing as I have been at that company for nearly 10 years now but still was good to go through it with new people. D said that this morning when I left for work, I looked more relaxed and wasn't the normal 'oh my god, do I really have to go in?' type of attitude that I have before setting off to work. Mind you, I found it hard to get up when it was still dark to be at work for 8.45am.
The trainer, to a couple of us looks like, and to a certain extent, acts like Michael McIntyre, the comedian. Only thing missing is the running skip that Michael McIntyre does on stage. I swear, if he does that in class, I will wet myself laughing. This is what I mean. If it doesnt work use this link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5OKY2jyBm4w
